Before, my living room was nondescript. Though it looked pretty, the floor felt "sticky". Every time I walked on it, I felt a bounce and heard the sound of glue separating. They hadn't been installed properly. Though, it was an expense I didn't plan for, I felt it was important that something as foundational as the ground I walk on feel solid. The soundproofing was as much for me as my downstairs neighbor. I never worry about making too much noise and I've never gotten a complaint.

Before I reconfigured the kitchen, it was enclosed, had very broken up counter space and no oven. It just wasn't cooking or entertaining friendly.

Before, like the living room, the bedroom was also a bit blah. The HVAC cover had layers and layers of old paint over it. The accordion closet doors tended to get off track and needed space to fold out.
